Do try with Kindle again Lisa. There is a setting which enables you to see the book cover every time you open your Kindle. I agree it doesn’t have the same ‘handle’ as an actual book but it’s as light as a feather and very easy to read in the sunshine or at bedtime (and much better on your eyes than an iPad). Here’s a link https://www.pocket-lint.com/how-to-get-your-kindle-to-display-book-cover-art/#:~:text=Head%20into%20settings%20by%20tapping,the%20top%20of%20the%20page.

My Kindle always shows me the cover of whatever I’m reading when I open it - you are right, it’s definitely a setting

This looks like an excellent list!!! After being an avid reader, I only ever seem to read on holiday due to wasting too much time scrolling 🫠 When I do read, I use a kindle due to an eye condition, but like you say, I never can remember the title and miss the ‘feel’ of a book. Enjoy the rest of your stay in Ibiza 💃🍾🥂

I gave up entirely with the kindle because it freaked me out that I had no idea what I was reading 📖 thanks Shiralee it’s lovely to be away

Trespasses is based in my home town 💚. It’s a beautiful read that will sit with you long after. I hope you love it.

Added a couple to my summer reading list; thank you. For those of us with Kindles, a few of these are currently on offer at 99p!

Thanks for the list! «Trespasses» sounds good. I should really read some English books to be in touch with the English language. As a teacher of Norwegian literature at secondary level I have felt the pressure about my daughters´reading habits…. Had to give up. They never found interest in books as children or teenagers. They tried, though. They are good dancers, but not good literature readers, haha. Can´t be good at everything!

I’ve always been an avid reader. I used to take the entire family book allowance at the library when I was a child, my poor brother never got a look in. I read loads on my Kindle, and when I open it, it shows me the cover of whatever I’m reading. All the books you’d either borrow from the library, or buy, read, give away. Autobiography or biography are ALWAYS actual books. I buy loads secondhand - we have an amazing shop in our local market (Shrewsbury), and I’ve found some great bargains at NT bookshops. This year my aim is to work through all the actual books in to “To Be Read” pile - so far I’m doing fairly well. I currently have an Ava Gardner bio by the bed, and read 3 chapters most nights before moving to my Kindle

A wonderful list thanks Lisa! The Wedding People is one of my favourite books I’ve read this year so far! And highly concur on teenager reading and the only books of any remote interest to them are their (forced) reading for English gcse literature! X
