Very helpful! Do you think there’s any difference in decorating a round table? I struggle with placemats and tablecloths. Even with the off number of decorations it can also start to feel crowded since its all centered.

Hello! I really love a round table and had one in the kitchen before I put the workbench in. There is certainly less usable space than is clear on an angled table but there is a nice symmetry to a circular table setting I think. Round placemats mean you can cram round more people and the settings don't overlap; I'd add a central focal point (maybe greenery, flowers, candle holders) but I wouldn't overcrowd it. I think as simple as possible - keep the main decor to the place settings (so go with some of the ideas I mentioned above; napkin with some greenery, name plates, etc) and add one item of height to the centre. I'd stick to the rule of STOP when you start to feel that it's right BEFORE you overdo it. That's what I would do! Thanks so much for reading xx

Thanks so much! Did you also use round table cloths? That’s where I struggle to find some good ones as most are meant for rectangular tables.

Yes I actually bought vintage ones from the charity shop but I don’t recall ever buying one new! They are hard to find. I will do a post about them and find some good ones 👌🏻

Ooo I would love that.

A brilliant source for table setting ideas there Lisa. One of the most fun things in the world in my opinion. Howled at the dogging mention. A friend of mine once lost her dog on a walk just before dark on Newlands Corner. She sought help from a group of parked cars with their lights on. She got more than she bargained for. There’s a whole language with the lights apparently!
