March seems to have FLOWN by. I cannot believe that it will be April on Monday, but I am not complaining about it. Spring and warmer climes cannot come fast enough for me. I am bored of socks; I want to pack away my duvet coat and ditch the tights for bare legs and sandals. I want to jet wash the patio (a job I point blank refuse to do in howling winds as it’s f**king freezing) and put out the garden furniture. I want to pull up the sashes and see the disco ball sparkle in the sun. I know, I know, it won’t be long. I’m just really very impatient, ha. Although the flying months feeling isn’t just a myth, apparently. I read this week that it is an actual FACT that time passes quicker as you get older - over time, the rate at which we process visual information slows down, and this is what makes time speed up as we age. Sigh.

On a brighter note (ha), this week, I had very few dilemmas of my own as my mum, Sue, came to visit. It had been a while since she had made the journey on the Cross Country from Reading to York so we made the most of it and concentrated on her favourite pastime of all - hitting the shops. My mum LOVES the shops. She is 80 this year, but nothing can stop her perusing Homesense for over an hour (an actual fact) or endlessly wandering the womenswear in Fenwick. Surprisingly, she didn’t buy a white t shirt this visit. My mum is renowned for her extensive collection of white t shirts, of which she must own around 3854 and counting. I took her for afternoon tea at The Grand as a belated Mothers Day celebration, we went to an Argentinian steak house for dinner with Max and Leo and surprisingly managed to bingewatch an entire series - The Passenger - on Netflix (deeply confusing for both of us, tbh). Time well spent, for sure.

Anyway, let’s talk dilemmas of the interior kind and this week, we are talking big rugs, white whites, averagely priced tiles, non seagull seaside decor and mini breaks. As stated many times before, I am not a qualified interior designer nor a lifestyle coach, travel advisor or chef, but merely someone who enjoys decorating their own home (with a fair to middling level of success), likes to travel and enjoys a good meal and chat so my (often tongue in cheek) answers will not be instructional but will, I hope, be vaguely helpful. And don’t forget to drop your OWN Design Dilemmas in the comments below so that I can tackle them next week.
