As I write this, the sun is shining and I’ve just been to a pop up shopping event where I managed to exit with a dress, a pair of trousers and some nice notecards that you can put into packages when sending stuff. I know, all essentials. I love a good pop up event. One of the great things about them is that they are almost always all small brands who you might not have known of otherwise - I added at least four to my Instagram follow list, gorgeous homeware and clothes stores that were previously not on my radar. I’ve mentioned before that I’m trying to buy better and buy less (my sister, Annabel, is a stylist who focuses on sustainability so I am pretty much her worst nightmare) so if I AM buying clothes, I think it’s a bonus and better to be buying small rather than large. That’s what I’m telling myself, anyway, ha. I’ll list a few of the great brands I found in next weeks List Of Joie so that you can feel the benefit too as they’re all online.
I had holiday clothes on my mind today as we are heading to the sun with our friends for a mini break the first week of July. It’s only a few nights but I am MORE than ready for a padded (hopefully - I set a lot of store by sun lounger comfort) sun lounger and a massive glass of cold rose under the blue sky. It’s like a light at the end of the GCSE tunnel, tbh, and I cannot WAIT. There is now exactly six weeks until it’s all over and done with and if you are in a similar boat, you’ll know this feeling well. Leo is the last of my kids to go through the school system; the joy of not having to buy school uniform ever again is immense.
But back to the main event and this week we are talking about kitchen colours. Choosing a kitchen is one of the biggest decisions in the history of home decor decisions so how to get it right? We’re chatting about how to get the decor right colourwise in a room that faces East (spoiler: it gets the morning light and less in the afternoon) and how to style a bedroom boho style whilst keeping it chic. Plus how to make flower arranging as easy as possible (plus some vase suggestions) and a selection of cool bedside tables that don’t have woven rattan doors but can still hold the essentials.
