Good morning and as you read this, I will currently be dilemma free as we will - as long as all goes to plan - be on our family holiday. We have been counting down the days for this event for months and months mostly, as I mentioned last week, because it means that I will have all of my family in one place to eat a meal together which is an exceptionally rare occurrence. Eating out on holiday is pretty much my favourite part of being away. Not only do I get to see them all together (also to receive confirmation that they are, in fact eating - most of the time I am never actually sure what they survive on) but I also don’t have to do the clearing up, load a dishwasher nor think about what we are going to eat next. HEAVEN.

The animals, of course, have been left behind and I can almost feel the fury of Flo as she spends a week in the cattery. Buddy is a lucky dog as Ellas boyfriends parents take him when we are not here, but cats, as we know, are different. Although most cats are happy to be left with a feeder, Flo cannot stand to be alone (she’s a British Shorthair and I think it’s a breed thing - she follows me around like a dog) so there is really only one option. It’s on a farm, literally two minutes down the road and she can see loads of other cats and is perfectly happy enough, but she still runs a mile when she sees the cat carrier being hoisted out of the garage. I am sure that her cat companions for the week will be feeling her wroth and that WE will be feeling it upon our return.

Right, now back to your dilemmas and this week, we’re tackling how to make your kitchen more interesting without splashing much cash. We’re looking at creating appealing small decking spaces and whether or not to invest in designer pieces for your home. And finally, garden planning and low ceiling rooms - how to style them so they don’t feel cramped?
