A Short List Of Things Bringing Joie

What I've watched, bought, worn, eaten, read and lusted after this week, including garden benches, cute kittens, BYO restaurants, fruit plates, ramen eggs and apartments in Barcelona with glass walls.

I had a very productive weekend, despite socialising for two nights on the trot which is usually enough to send me in a decline. Two nights, for Joe and I, is generally a massive no no. One night, great. Two nights? Non, merci. As everyone knows, a weekend needs to have sufficient time allocated for sitting on the sofa. Perhaps shutting your eyes for a few minutes as you have no need to be anywhere else. Having more than one cup of tea whilst perusing Pinterest or reading a magazine or the news. Watching a film with a takeaway. So nice. But this weekend, we veered off course and not only did we go to the pub for a birthday on the Friday, but also to a friends for dinner on the Saturday. I don’t even know who we are anymore. I am making up for this unheard of excess by staying in every night this week to catch up.

Anyway, I threw myself into furniture moving on Saturday. If you have followed me or subscribed for a while, you’ll know that I have a complete inability to leave any item static for longer than a few months and am prone to complete upheaval of rooms at the drop of a hat. This weekend, my office got it, much to the animals chagrin who consider it their own personal space. I flattened all the boxes, cleared the debris and sent Joe to the tip to recycle it all before moving my desk to the other side of the room and swapping around the lighting. I have been ranting about this for years, but switching things up really does change the feel of a space - sometimes it takes just a small swap up to refresh a room with not a single penny being spent. The only issue that has occurred after my weekend move is that now my desk chair appears to be positioned on a part of the floor which is wonky, meaning that I keep free wheeling backwards with no warning. A small price to pay for a mood boost, however,

Right, let’s get back to my list of Joie and there is much to be found in this weeks round up. Here’s a little run down of what I’ve watched, bought, worn, read, eaten and lusted after.
