A Short List Of Things Bringing Joie
What I've watched, bought, worn, eaten, read and lusted after this week including good bread boards, Vinted skirts, shoes my husband hates, tables with trees, cat litter, tuna, crochet and Pikes pink.
In the words of Nessa, there has been a lot occurring in the two weeks since I last wrote this post, mostly that we finally moved house after seven months of rented living, completing the downsizing process and almost sending me, and the animals, over the edge. Okay, I’m exaggerating a bit - quite frankly, the animals haven’t cared less. In fact, they quite like the fact that due to the house being a lot smaller, they are close to me at all times which suits them perfectly. The living room bay window is low which means that both Buddy and Flo can glower at passers by with very little effort (I was in the kitchen yesterday and I could actually hear someone exclaiming at Flo and her glowering through the open window). Now that we are a week in, we are all very much enjoying being in a place that is our own, helped by the glorious weather and the fact that we can sit on the front bench in the sunshine with a glass of wine and watch and listen to York Minster toiling the bells every evening. It’s taken a while to get here, but here we are. It’s good.
Joe and I have also been to Ibiza since I last wrote this post. We went with our friends, another couple, and planned a calm, relaxing and laid back few days in sunshine child free heaven. We didn’t manage to tick any of those three boxes properly due to the fact that we bought a bottle of Cava and sausage sandwiches at the airport on the way out and continued in that vein, but we did eat some really great food, talked a lot of good chat and laid on sun beds with some Spanish rose and a book so it was well worth the journey. Plus we managed to get to bed at midnight every night, after booking long lunches instead of dinners. Bingo. Whether or not it was wise to head to the party island the day before we moved house is another question, but there is something about the warmth of the sun on your face with no parental responsibility which is an overriding winner.
Right, back to business and although I was Ibiza bound and new home brain mushed, there is, of course, still stuff to report back on. Here’s a little run down of what I’ve watched, bought, worn, read, eaten and lusted after in the last fortnight.
