A Short List Of Things Bringing Joie
What I've watched, bought, worn, eaten, read and lusted after this week including Vinted winnings, pink sinks, vegan feasts, terrifying gorges, Sezane dupes, husband gift upgrades and Creme Egg cakes.
Hola, mis amigas and as I write this we are swiftly heading towards the end of March and the beginning of Easter celebrations, which means that I will be unable to enter the supermarket without leaving the building with at least one egg for immediate consumption. It’s also the time of year that I fill the glass fish on the kitchen counter with Cadburys Creme Eggs which is fairly disastrous for any visitor who is currently undergoing any sort of healthy eating food plan. Creme Eggs are, as everyone knows, Food Of The Gods. Our local cafe, Wheldrakes, make and sell Creme Egg cakes which are absolutely unbelievably delicious - a slice of what is basically solid chocolate and cookie dough (I googled to see if I could find a similar recipe to share and found this one for Creme Egg Scotch Eggs - I KNOW - which look outrageously good although likely to kill you off with excess sugar intake).

My children are now well past the age of the Easter Bunny but that will not stop them from expecting Easter eggs. We no longer, however, have to hide eggs in the garden for them to find which was always a faintly arduous task, particularly as Easter Sunday falls ON A SUNDAY which meant the duty had to be carried out on a Saturday night, often after Bank Holiday celebrations making the most of the four day weekend with friends. Many a time I sent Joe into the garden in the pitch dark half cut to hide tiny mini gold foiled eggs, a job made worse once we got Buddy as you never knew if you would a) accidentally stand in a poo or b) kill off the dog - prone to eating anything he can lay his paws on - via death by chocolate. Stressful times.
Anyway, let’s get back to my list of Joie and there is much to be found in this weeks round up. Here’s a little run down of what I’ve watched, bought, worn, read, eaten and lusted after.
