A Short List Of Things Bringing Joie
What I've watched, bought, worn, eaten, read and lusted after this week including courgetti spaghetti, massive cheap candles, huge chunky jumpers, cowboys, perfect poetry and a murderous Hugh Grant.

I have very little to report, it feels, this week as I have been hugely busy with work. My house currently has two fully decorated trees erected and two tablescapes set for a joyous festive dinner, complete with candles and miniature trees. Paper stars and honeycomb hang across the fireplace and I keep finding batted down decorations where the cat has attacked them with abandon. British Gas Homecare came over to do the annual service and became extremely disorientated as they negotiated a pile of holly garlands. Yes, my house feels like it’s the 20 December and there’s a sparkling tree in the window distracting passing cars a month early, but it was very pretty this morning when there was snow outside. On the plus side, props mean that I had Christmas cake, cranberry cheese and gouda star crackers for lunch so winning at life, really.
I’ve also been helping plan the OSCAR’s charity ball, which is on Friday at a local Hotel, commemorating ten years since it was founded. I was tasked with doing the table decor and it has not, admittedly, been a chore. I love doing this sort of job. With 200 people coming, I’ve spoken to our local market florist who is finding the perfect orange flowers (orange is the charity colour) for me to put in vases (bought for a bargain £2 a go from IKEA - £2!) and a super kind company called Festive Lights have donated the coolest LED candles for the table so I’m hoping it will all come together on the day. Will report back with pictures.
Okay, back to my list and there are plenty of things that have brought the joie over the last few weeks. Here’s a little run down of what I’ve watched, bought, worn, read, eaten and lusted after.
