A Short List Of Things Bringing Joie

What I've watched, bought, worn, eaten, read and lusted after this week including massive chocolate bars, party dresses, prawn cocktails, vintage present buying, bread baskets and hot shouty chefs.

We were away last week for a few days in Corfu (last of the summer wine etc etc) and upon our return, I collected the animals from their respective temporary homes and brought them home. Flo has been at a local cattery, mostly because she hates being alone and enjoys the company of the other cats, always returning looking just a little bit fatter than when she went in. She’s a British Shorthair and anyone who has experience of British Shorthairs will know that they have a personality akin to pigeon. Stupidly confident, super stubborn, fearless and uncontrollable, all at the same time. She has no care for being scared of the dog; she literally doesn’t give a toss. Her quest for food is also pigeon led - every morning I wake and lie quietly, knowing that the very second I move a muscle she’ll be wailing in my face demanding a packet of Felix.

Anyway, life has zoomed back into action and we are now on the Christmas countdown which I am not displeased about. I have said before that the run up to Christmas is my favourite bit and I have a plethora of (hopefully) exciting Christmas ideas to impart once I get my act in gear. From decorations and table setting through to gifting ideas and food, I am your woman in this department so if you’re not subscribed, I would thoroughly recommend. If you’re a paid subscriber, you can also access nine years worth of festive canape recipes via the Food tab (you can see this on your mobile browser or desktop), all of which are super simple and take minimum time and effort. I only do food that takes minimum time and effort, ha.

Okay, back to my list and there are plenty of things that have brought the joie over the last few weeks. Here’s a little run down of what I’ve watched, bought, worn, read, eaten and lusted after.

This post is for paid subscribers but you can upgrade for the price of a coffee! You’ll get a minimum of four extra posts every month plus my entire archive including tonnes of recipes and travel write ups. I would thoroughly recommend!
