Including why you should ALWAYS avoid lime green maternity wedding dresses and excessive amounts of M&S triple sandwiches and why a back garden wedding was the BEST ever.
Happy Anniversary indeed, we are at 30, one particular favourite to add is “try and look gracious on a Big Birthday when he buys you the same earrings you have worn every day for 2 years saying “I thought they looked familiar…”
Happy Anniversary and congratulations. 💕These are all funny points and I’m sure lots of us have laughed and can relate to quite a few of these. You always make me laugh so thank you again.
49 years for us this year (hoping we will make 50 🙏) so I’m sure I could add a few more points but they probably should be said in private as the language will be blue!! Thanks again Lisa xxx
Happy Anniversary - I was also married in July 2001 and we just had our 23rd anniversary as well - I can't believe how much we have changed from the time we married in our 20s to now. We even changed countries. We had a child who is now 10. None of it has been predictable or perfect but I have grown so much as a person. we have a wonderful son, and I live in a culture and city that feels like home after being here for 15 years now. We also had a backyard garden wedding at the home of my relatives in Boston - it was beautiful and wonderful - my florist mom did all of the flowers... We had 70 guests and it was perfect - it rained on the way to the wedding and right before I arrived, the rain stopped and we girls stepped out of the limo (when they were still cool) and the sky was sunny and bright blue with the most perfect puffy while clouds and it was about 72 degrees which was very cool for a Boston summer's day. The rain brought out all of the birds, so while we were married, the birds sang. We just showed the wedding CD to our son and he was so impressed and loved it and wished he could have attended. I also got to see my mom alive again and my grandmother, which touched me so deeply. A lot has changed in 23 years - but it seems like yesterday too- do you also feel that? Like it doesn't feel that long ago????
Ah Happy Anniversary to you too! Your wedding sounds magical, and you are so lucky to have it on a CD! I think that my mum might have ours somewhere on video, I'm going to ask. The photographs bring it all back - my Dad died seven years later in 2008, the memories of him on that day are priceless. We have also done so much and so much has changed but YES, it feels like it was yesterday, I can remember it all. A happy day! Thanks so much for reading xx
Agreed with SO much of this. 30 year anniversary in October and I’m away on a walking holiday. No issues though. Might print off a lot of your 23 things and pretend I wrote them - totally believable. Happy Anniversary
Ha thanks so much for reading, it’s really appreciated! And honestly, weren’t things shocking then maternity wise! Just an outrage 😂 I was so fuming that H&M hadn’t launched in time 😂
Happy Anniversary L & J! We celebrated 18 years together recently (only 14 years married) & I nodded along to your tips & highly appreciate not one but TWO pond falls👌🏼 No organisational skills for my husband (severe, medicated ADHD so completely understandable; I’d suspected this for many years before his diagnosis). I’ve had to learn to be VERY specific with any requests. Gifts are usually me sending links or using your inspired skill of ‘mutually beneficial presents’. WELL DONE 👏🏼
Very specific is the only way to be, whatever the situation 👌🏻 and yes the pond falling must be a family thing 😂 happy belated anniversary to you and thanks so much for reading and commenting it’s so appreciated! Xx
I remember one year my husband gave me a cookery book and a gardening book for my birthday and I had horrific PMT……… You can imagine - it never happened again.
Also my birthday is 8th September and every year he complains that it falls just after our return from holiday.
However we have been married 47 years so it’s obviously not all bad - btw I was a teenager when we got married 😉
47 years is totally amazing! Fabulous 🙌🏻 I have totally trained Joe on the present front I have to admit as he has done the same 😂 thanks so much for reading and for commenting it’s always hugely appreciated! Happy weekend xx
You bring so much laughter and ”she got that right -feeling” with your writing👌 Love it! Happy Anniversary🎉 (You should print out all the coments here on this Sub. and give to Joe so he’s sure not to miss out😂😂)
